Saturday May 22, 2010 My first public recital

I have been hamming it up at home for a long time but on this occassion I did it in public. I was carried on stage but I was not going to be lead around by some big clumsy adult so I promptly wriggled my way out and joined in. When you see the video, ignore the little boy who plainly had two left feet.

I did a very passable dance routine with my tutu and then gave a low bow as I was taught in my violin lessons. The next day we spent in the pool and we  had a barbecue with my sisters and their pals.

Saturday April 24, 2010

Mamma, Poppy, myself, Felicity and Lilibet went to visit Rock Obama’s House in DC. The best part was the Gaylord National Hotel in National Harbor where we watched the music fountains and got thoroughly soaked and we also swam in the pool and Poppy showed me how to get in and out by myself. I can now swim but it is so much fun that I am pooped out for the rest of the day.  We saw Dorothy’s red shoes at the Museum of American History and the Washington Monument. We were all a little upset at not getting into the White House but we had banana pancakes instead at the Washington Hotel next door and then we played in the Park around the statue of a General on a big horse. We got home late on Sunday night and went straight to bed.  O.

Asleep. Lullaby for sleeping children

Lullaby for Ophelia, Lilibet and Felicity

Asleep

Too late to stay awake

Eyes are shut

And will not open

Kisses and Hugs will not wake

Nor lights, as Mamma

Sorts clothes for next day’s school

Nor re-arranging  of bed clothes

Nor falling out of bed

Will wake

Too late to wake

Asleep

Asleep in children’s sleep

Where dreams are

Barney dancing

and wa wa wubbzy

Who entertain

Until 5:00 am

When I will wake and walk

And climb into

Mamma and Pappa’s bed

Between them

Asleep.

Saturday March 27th, 2010 Madison Square Garden

The whole family went to MSQG today to see the circus.  I loved the elephants. Afterwards we came home and had dinner. Tomorrow is my Birthday Party and all my friends are coming over from School.

Sunday March 21st, 2010. Face-painting and the Central Park Zoo.

This is the first weekend of spring 2010. The weather was in the 70’s yesterday and today about 60 °F. We went to the Gym with Mamma and Poppy this morning and I had a coffee and a muffin with Poppy in Armonk afterwards. Then we drove to New York City and had blue-berry and banana pancakes at La Mode on Broadway and 114th Street with Sebastian. Tomorrow is Rony’s Birthday and Poppy called her after we came home and I said hello and so did Felicity, but Lilibet was asleep. Rony is 15 hours ahead and she was at work on Monday morning!  In the meantime we all went to the Central Park Zoo and saw the penguins and the polar bear. But the best part was petting the sheep and posing inside the bunny rabbit sculptures. Afterwards we had our faces painted and eat ice-cream and played in the playground.  Here is a picture of Rony on her birthday (right) and picture of me and Felicity also (I am the one on the right with flowers painted on my cheeks).
