A Benefit to Fund Scientific Research for the Treatment of Down Syndrome
‘On March 29th we raised almost $100,000. Newman’s Own Foundation and a private contributor and friend of the family, both donated $10,000. I received several other donations from $5000-$10,000.
Emily Perl Kingsley came straight from Sesame Street to talk about her son Jason and Prof. William Mobley flew in from San Francisco, especially for the event. Pari Kreutter-Hirsch chaired the benefit and made it a huge success. Over a hundred people came. We are already planning next year’s event at Miller Motor Cars with the help of Cyndi and Richard Koppelman as well as a benefit in England. If you want to help, please call Chelsea at 203 838 8844 or Email to firstname.lastname@example.org. ‘ our initial goal is one million dollars. To really get this off the ground and find a cure for Down Syndrome we are going to need 20-30 million dollars or 15 million pounds. If you know someone who would like to endow a chair or name the Stanford Institute of Neuroscience after themselves or a family member, talk to them and find out if they would like to help these wonderful children around the world so that may lead a truly independent life and avoid the onset of early Alzheimer’s disease.’
